Real Life Character Sheet Generator

By the Habit Dungeon team · Last updated:

Quick answer

This free real life character sheet generator turns a list of your habits into RPG stats. Type what you actually do and each habit is sorted into Strength, Agility, Intellect, Vitality or Luck, weighted by difficulty, to show which stat your routine is really building — and which one you have been neglecting.

A real life character sheet is the most direct way to see what your routine is actually building. Not what you intend to build — what the habits you genuinely do add up to when you lay them out as numbers.

Paste your habits below. Each one is classified into one of five stats using the same offline classifier our app uses, weighted by how demanding it is. No account, nothing uploaded, nothing stored.

Generate your character sheet

One habit per line, written however you would say it. 'Lift weights 3x a week' works as well as 'gym'.

Write them how you actually say them. The same classifier the app uses will sort each one into a stat.

Your character sheet appears here as you type.

What the five stats mean

The same five the app uses. Every habit trains exactly one of them.

Strength (STR)

Physical power — lifting, resistance training, calisthenics, anything heavy.

Agility (AGI)

Cardio and mobility — running, walking, cycling, swimming, stretching, sport.

Intellect (INT)

Sharpening the mind — reading, studying, languages, coding, practising an instrument.

Vitality (VIT)

Recovery and nutrition — sleep, water, food, meditation, cold showers, screen-free time.

Luck (LUC)

Social, creative and financial — calling people, making things, journalling, budgeting, tidying.

What to do with the result

Look for the empty bar first. Almost everyone has one, and it is usually more informative than the tall one. Routines skew heavily towards whatever the person already enjoys, and the neglected stat is often the one that would make the most difference.

A tall Vitality bar with nothing else is common and worth noticing. Water, sleep and meditation are easy to adopt and easy to over-weight, because each is genuinely good and none of them is hard. If your whole sheet is Vitality, you have built a maintenance routine rather than a growth one.

An empty Luck bar is the most common gap by a distance. Social contact, creative work and money admin rarely make it onto habit lists at all, because they do not feel like self-improvement in the way exercise does. They are usually the highest-return things on the sheet.

Do not try to max everything. A balanced sheet is not the goal — five mediocre stats is worse than two strong ones and a deliberate choice about the rest. The point is that the choice should be deliberate.

How the classifier works

It is a keyword classifier, ported directly from the offline one in our iOS app. It matches whole words against curated lists for each stat and picks the highest-scoring one, then estimates difficulty from a separate keyword set to weight the XP.

It is deterministic and runs entirely in your browser. The same input always gives the same output, nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no AI involved on this page.

It will occasionally get one wrong — 'practice' could reasonably be Intellect or Agility depending on what you are practising, and it has to pick. Treat the sheet as a rough shape rather than a precise reading.

Why represent habits as stats at all

Because a character sheet is a very literal representation of an identity, and identity is the framing that makes habits durable. 'I want to read more' is a wish. A sheet showing Intellect at 40 and Strength at 4 is a fact about the last three months.

It also makes trade-offs visible in a way a checklist cannot. A to-do list treats every item as equivalent. A stat block shows you that six of your eight habits feed the same number, which is a thing worth knowing before you add a ninth.

This is the idea our app is built on — Habit Dungeon maintains this sheet for you as you complete habits, and the character it produces goes on a dungeon expedition each night whose outcome depends on what you actually did. More on the underlying framing in identity-based habits.

Frequently asked questions

What is a real life character sheet?

A representation of your actual habits as RPG statistics. Habits that train the body raise a strength stat, reading and study raise an intellect stat, and so on, so the sheet becomes a record of what your routine is genuinely building.

Is this character sheet generator free?

Yes, completely. No account, no email, no limits. It runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored.

How are habits assigned to stats?

A keyword classifier matches your text against curated word lists for each of the five stats and picks the strongest match, then estimates difficulty separately to weight the XP. It is the same deterministic classifier used inside the app.

What if a habit is classified wrongly?

It happens with ambiguous words — 'practice' or 'training' could belong to more than one stat and the classifier has to choose. Rewording slightly usually fixes it, and the overall shape of the sheet is what matters rather than any single row.

Which stat should I focus on?

Usually the emptiest one, since routines naturally skew towards whatever you already enjoy. Luck — social, creative and financial habits — is the most commonly neglected and often the highest return.
